See mom? I told you I was a little cherub.

I am thoroughly enjoying my “babymoon”. Even with the three to four hours of sleep a night, not consecutively of course, I am allotted them in one hour increments.
Finn keeps me on a tight schedule. He is a little piggy like his Daddy. He just eats and eats and eats. Especially in the evenings, after everyone else has gone to bed. I don’t mind the first two or three hours, it’s time for just the two of us. I’m a selfish mom, I don’t want to share him with Daddy or Sissy or Nana. I can’t help myself. I am amazed, after twelve years, my “mommy ears” still work like radar. I hear the teeniest squeak and I am up and out of that bed in two seconds flat.
Some pictures of my little man.
It’s funny, when I first became pregnant all I wanted was another little girl, I had no desire for a boy, I didn’t know what I would do with a boy. Somewhere in the middle I changed my mind. Finn is the little boy I never knew I always wanted.
A much longer post will follow when I can grab a few moments, but in the meantime…
Finnigan Douglas Durf joined our famiy on Sunday May 18th at 12:16 am. He weighed in at 7lbs 15 oz, thumbing his nose at the Dr. who said he would be a 9 pounder! He is 19 and 3/4 inches long and stunningly beautiful. I’m biased, what can I say. The homebirth was amazing, I will never ever have another baby in a hospital. We are all doing fantastic, Dad and Big Sis have smiles so big they threaten to split their faces!

Knittin’ through contractions…Finn won the race, he beat the sweater to completion.

Well, I could fill this post with kvetching about my miserableness and how very pregnant I still am, but I will be nice to all of you and spare you my whining. I have been sewing a lot as mentioned in a previous post. It’s sew nice *hee,hee* to actually have the space to do it. I have sewn several accessories for the nursery.
Curtains and a valance.
A dust ruffle for the crib, I really love how this came out.
I made a mobile for the crib with each piece representing the story on the fabric: a mitten for The Naughty Kittens Who Lost Their Mittens, A mushroom for Alice in Wonderland, A Moon for Hey Diddle Diddle, and a Pail for Jack and Jill.
I also made a quick pillow, I think I’ll make another one.
And…I have been making a million and one reusable flannel diaper wipes. So cute and easy and quick. I think I made too many.
Also, the baby sweater is finally on the needles! It’s a race to see who gets here first, the sweater or the baby! (I hope Tad wins the race). No pics of that yet, so I will finish off with a couple of nursery shots. It came out beautiful, I forgot to take any before pics, but imagine this room with white walls, awful wood paneling, two computers, a futon, a sewing table with two fish tanks on it, and a bookshelf loaded with Star Trek and Star Wars books. Not mine. Hubby and FIL did a really nice job painting. And yes, that would be Evanrude starting a fight with JinBao, he terrorizes the dog mercilessly…we love it.
First of all, thank you to everyone who stopped by and wished the Monkey a happy birthday, she was tickled pink!
Psalm 139:13-16
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
Dear God,
I know that you are obviously very busy knitting this little baby…I can tell by all the stupid contractions I am having. My question is this…Are you done yet God? Now I know you set a knitting goal for an FO on May 20th…but please, do you think you could possibly knit a little faster? I’m miserable here.
Thanks, love you, thanks for all you do for our family,
Tracey
