Shhhhh, secret baby knitting for Amanda Cathleen

OK, for the rest of you….shhhhh. I have been doing some super top secret baby knitting for our dear friend over at Mistress Stash Enhancer. Now, this little baby kimono was off the needles the day that little Miss Kailey was born, and it has sat pinned to my blocking board since. I am not a fan of finishing, of course, once I sat down and actually did it, it flew by. And here is the sweet little result. The yarn is a Debbie Bliss Cashmerino knock off from A.C. Moore in a lovely soft lilac color. The pattern was from the Lion Brand free patterns and was ridiculously simple and quick. It would be really easy to jazz this sweater up with some knitted flowers or a variegated yarn, but it’s equally sweet and beautiful in it’s simplicity.

Oh! And good news, my husband found someone who knows how to knit so he now has a hat on his head so his brains won’t leak out…..OH, I mean so his head will be warm. πŸ˜› I love that man dearly. I will get a picture of him in his beanie, he’s so hot in it. It’s funny, he always looks clean cut and respectable, but put that hat on his head and he looks like a thug…or maybe it was just because I made him try it on in the bathroom when he only had his jeans on, no shirt. What do you think?

And of course, like any dark color, I can’t get a good picture of it up close to show you the stitch. It’s basicly about 2 1/2 inches of a 3×1 rib, and then waffle stitch. It’s pretty slick.
