The Science Fair and Sleepless Nights

Well today is the big day. The Monkey has worked really hard on her Science Fair project and it has to be in the school no later than 4:00 o’clock. We had a blast last night putting together her presentation board. It looks awesome! Just see for yourself.

Tomorrow night is the actual Science Fair. We can’t wait to see the response her project gets. In the meantime…tell us what you think? Video 1 Video 2 Video 3

So, the hubby and I put the finishing touches on the presentation board around 11:00. Great! I can still call it a night and get 8 hours of sleep, right? WRONG! I live in the sticks, out in the middle of Amish country. I also live near an army base that receives vehicles of all kinds to repair and send out. Isn’t there anything more wonderful than sleeping with your window open on a cool spring night, listening to the night noises? GRAGARARRRRGGGRRRGGG!!! 2:00 A.M.

1. Hubby Snoring

2. Dog Snoring

3. Amish neighbors sheep bleeting all night because he’s driving his Bobcat Mini-Excavator through them…yes, I said a Mini-X.

4. Amish neighbors gas generator operating the pump to pump water from the pond down to the business (greenhouse) to water the trees.

5. Did I mention the headlights of the Mini-X shining in our bedroom window.

Let me explain something to you Mr. Amish Business Man! Whether you use your mini-x during the day or under the cover of darkness……YOU ARE STILL USING IT!!! JUST GIVE UP THE GHOST AND GO MENNONITE SO THE REST OF US CAN SLEEP!?!?!?!

needless to say…I am not a nice person today.

  1. Hehe, that is a fantastic level of hypocrisy. What, do they think they can only be corrupted by stuff like that during daylight hours?

  2. Pooch says:

Who knew that the tiny fish could be trained?! I think there’s a scientific break-through here! All that time E spent watching her fish has paid off!

  3. sandy says:

Oh, that silly Amish man! 🙂
I love the science project! That is one smart fish. And a smart COOKIE too, or monkey!

  4. Hehe, I love the 2nd video, where the fish waits and doesn’t swim to the straw so much as head-butt it. So cute!

  5. Cynthia says:

Very smart Carabella and a great Science Fair presentation by the Monkey!

Sorry you’ve got neighbor problems. And it doesn’t seem likely that Mr Amish Businessman or the Army base will be moving any time soon.

  6. who knew you could train a fish! What a smart monkey you got there

  7. Chris says:

    Cool science project!

I am boggled about the allegedly Amish neighbor having a bobcat…
