Guess who’s 11?

We celebrated the Monkey’s birthday all weekend long and it was a hoot!

Saturday we had the “official” party. I forgot how much I don’t like birthday parties where friends are invited…they are sooo expensive. Oh well, it’s been a while since we’ve done one and it’s a small price to pay to see my little Monkey that excited and happy. Also, her friends really are very sweet. She decorated the tent over at my in-laws and was just the funniest little Martha Stewart. We had an absolutely beautiful day for the party. It’s hard with May, you just can’t count on the weather being consistently warm yet.We had hot dogs and hamburgers and kittens…

Oh, ok, only the Monkey ate the kitten.

There was much silliness, much, much, silliness. And a new bicycle…

Which was promptly crashed…

All in all it was a good day.Yesterday was her actual birthday. She had the Pioneer Club Picnic and Bike ‘n Hike at church. It was a blast, the picnic was at the church and then we all headed over to the local bike path and off she went with all the other kids. The hubby and I walked (no bikes) and I knit and we chatted and before we knew it…whew! 4 Miles! So we topped off the day with Gilato’s at Rita’s because it would be positively indecent to NOT eat ice cream on ones birthday. It was a good birthday. ‘Cept she’s got a cold and was home today with a low grade fever. Blech, what a birthday present.
