Woo Hoo What A Birthday!

OK, first of all I have to say, today is great. Why? Because God is Good! Because I am getting a spinning wheel for my birthday. Because I got an invitation to Ravelry last night. That’s why. I turn 28 today and have been reminded of all the wonderful people in my life. I have a fantastic family: a husband who, with bleary sleepy eyes rolled over this morning at 4:30 to hug me and mumbled in his sleep, “happy birthday sweety”. Apparently he has something special planned this evening. I have a wonderful little monkey who hugged me and said Happy Birthday nearly 20 times this morning. I came to work and on my desk was a hand picked bouquet of flowers (from her garden) from my dear friend Mel. I was greeted by a co-worker and friend this morning as I came in, “Happy Birthday, birthday girl!” Then another friend from work came in with birthday wishes and a fancy square of 65% dark chocolate. My inbox has been flooded with e-cards this morning from both friends and family alike. I am grateful and thankful for all the wonderful people in my life and the friendships I have. It has been so wonderful getting to know all of you this past year and I want to say thank you, you each mean a great deal to me. God has truly blessed me with an amazing family and friends. God bless all of you.

I would also like to say a very special thank you to Cynthia for her very generous and kind offer. Cynthia is sending me a wonderful birthday gift: a spinning wheel that she doesn’t use anymore and says is just crying out to be used. She is a testament to all things knitterly and wonderful. This community of knitters and spinners that we are all apart of is special beyond mention because of folks like you. Thank you. The moment I got your email I was just floored. I was so giddy and happy. My feet didn’t touch the floor for the rest of the evening and I tossed and turned all night! Thank you!

I can’t possibly top Cynthia’s present … so you can send the check back. 😀

28 years ago, I was still in labor at 12:50, transition started at 3:15, and you came into the world at 5:18 p.m. Today? It’s not quite so labor-intensive at the office. Get it? 😉

    Love, Mom
