Fabulous Friday’s

October 19, 2007

So last Friday we were all packed into my mom’s car and heading to Grapevine Farms in Cobleskill, NY.

It is a really great place. Please, by all means, go if you should ever get the chance. I plan on dragging my friend Mel back up there with me.They have a bakery and coffee shop on the premises. We each bought one of their homemade cookies after lunch. Wow! Just amazing. They have truffles. I mean the nice big ones that are so rich you can only eat one for fear of keeling over into a sugar coma. Yeah. I like this place.

We had a marvelous lunch at their Cafe. They serve delish sandwiches, soups, salads, and the most amazing spinach feta quiche. Between Aunt Brenda, Mom, and I, it was dueling cameras the entire time we were there.

I was teased for knitting every chance I got. I had the last laugh though. By the afternoon I had a nice warm hat on my head when it got windy and cold 😛
See that right there? Now that’s the prego-glow. I must say, it’s rather elusive, it hasn’t shown it’s face since.

My mommy and her little baby sister. Aren’t they so cute?

We had such an amazing time their. I even got some Christmas shopping done whilst I was there. That always my defense when I hand the hubby the receipts. “What? I was Christmas shopping?” LOL. Here we are ready to head out on our next adventure…huddling together with our, “It’s-freezing-hurry-up-and-take-the-picture!” smiles.

Early Thanksgiving

October 18, 2007

Yep, my Aunt drove 45 miles away to get a turkey so we could have early Thanksgiving at Mom’s house. It was early Sunday morning when I awoke to the banging and clanking of Mom and Aunt Brenda working in the kitchen. So naturally I sprang from bed all happy and ready to help…

Yep, I’m just a ball of fire now that I’ve given up coffee.

I watched as Boobie Crocker 1 & 2 stuffed the turkey. Really, these two need their own cooking show. You can tell they really take pride in what they do.

What? I told you we were a silly bunch. Just ask Gigi, I’m sure there are days when she wishes she could transfer to a more normal family. 😉 Then again…maybe not, she’d miss all the fun!

My head is spinning…

October 16, 2007

I’m not sure if you guys remember me, my name is Tracey. I have a blog…fuzzybritches. Yeah, it’s been a while. So the job is going…well, let’s just say it’s going. The verdict is still out on it. I am studying frantically to pass my Pennsylvania Property and Casualty test next Wednesday.

Anywho, on to more important things. Knitting.

Who is that vixen in the soft lilac halo? That red haired knockout in that fuzzy purple sweater? It’s Mom, looking smashing in the sweater I knit for her. It really did turn out great. The specs: Merino Stripes Cowl Neck Pullover, knit with KnitPicks Suri Dream in Lilac Heather. It was a bargain and knit up exactly to gauge. It turned out beautifully!

We went up to NY this past weekend to visit family and we had a great time. My Aunt and Uncle from Florida were up (Hi Aunt Breeenda!) and so we had an impromptu early Thanksgiving. Friday all of us girls climbed in the car and spent the day wandering around upstate NY. We went here. It was amazing, if you get the chance…GO! Let me tell you, hanging out with my family gave me enough blog fodder for two weeks worth of posts. Lets just say that when we get together, things get silly…more on that later.

Oh yes, and the other knitting. God’s been knitting…see? Say hi to everyone Tad!

Measuing a little over a centimeter. Isn’t technology amazing?!

He’s upside down in this picture so I drew a “roadmap”.

Oh and NO, we don’t know the sex, it’s just that everyone has called him…well, “him” and “he”. I don’t know. If it is a girl, we will be in the dog house I’m sure and paying therapy bills because we gave her a complex.

Cereal? No thanks.

October 2, 2007

Oy Vai. Cereal, specifically Kashi’s cinnamon harvest was my breakfast food of choice. Yeah, Tad has changed that a little. I just can’t stomach cereal now. Ack. Seriously ack. I have been very blessed so far in that my morning sickness has been limited to mild queasiness off and on through the day. Praise the Lord for that. Ice cream also does fun things to my stomach so I rarely eat that now too. *Any of my family reading this will have now fainted dead away*

Mom’s sweater is in the living room blocking and will be ready to start seaming up this evening, now whether I am awake enough to do so will be another matter.

Check out this card my Aunt Brenda sent me. Too funny. Hey Sandy…look familiar?

Today and tomorrow I will be getting up early and coming in late as I will be about an hour away getting a pre-licensing crash course. Pray that I don’t nod off in class as I have been getting up at least 4 times a night to visit the bathroom. Apparently Tad thinks we need more quality time together.
