Well now that I have had plenty of time to digest our fun little weekend and come down with a sinus infection it’s time for a post and a celebratory contest! Since I have been so blessed in seeing my sister I am passing on the good vibes. On to the post!
Well let’s see, we really surprised our Dad, which was great fun, but we agreed we will tell him when we are coming to visit from now on. No more surprises. It was great, we arrived at 10:30 in the evening and Dad came out on the porch to help us bring things in from the car. When he saw Jen and I together he screamed like a little girl and swore at us, which we were kind of figuring he would. In fact at one point we were guessing what he would call us. Basically it went something like this:
Well hello therAAaAAAEEEEeeeeEEEeeeeAAAAyou little bastards!
Which in Dad language means, “Well hello there, Golly gee wow! Look at you two!”
Here is a picture of us with our favorite cousin at the clambake, can you tell all of us are related?
Earlier that morning we swung by my Mom’s side of the family to celebrate my grandparents 55th Anniversary. Awwww, they’re so cute. Happy Anniversary Gigi and Grandpa!
We did lots of stuff at Dad’s, like stalk the chickens, eat peas out of the garden, and pick beans. Finn helped with the beans.
Travis, Finn, and I took a walk in the woods one afternoon too. Finn loved to look around.
Now for the contest! We had to make a side trip to the Monkey’s birth place to get a copy of her birth certificate. Using this picture as your only clue (click to embiggen), tell me what town she was born in. Leave your guess in the comments. All those with the correct answer will be put into a drawing and someone will be randomly chosen to win…a $25 gift certificate to Blue Moon Fiber Arts! Family members are not eligible. š The contest will end on Friday August 22 at 10:00 pm eastern. Winner will be announced later that evening!
Enjoy and Good luck!
Oh she tries to fool us with Finn’s hat.
Cooperstown, NY
Cooperstown, NY.
Also, your hair looks fantastic! And I love the shot in the woods, with Finn peeking out of the sling like that. I cracked up when I saw it.
Cooperstown, NY… and I totally found the answer before reading the comments š
Your hair looks fantastic BTW.
awwww, finn is gettin so big! I love the little hat. Sounds like you and your sis had a great time surprising your Dad! *L* I hope you feel better soon.
Dude! I’ve always wanted to go there! How was your visit to the museum?
I’m guess that Monkey was born in Cooperstown, NY. Now isn’t it nice to be able to walk into the City Hall and just ask for a copy of her birth certificate? If ya are born in PA you have to write to Vital Statistics, gah, they take forever!
love those slings!
Its cooperstown NY!
I love your wraps! Finn is such a cutie!
We live about 2 hours away from Cooperstown, NY, and actually we are really looking forward to attending a wedding there in October! Woo-hoo!
Is it Cooperstown, NY??
Well, gee, um, Cooperstown, NY? š
In the woodland picture, it looks like you found a little elf beneath a mushroom – what a cute pic! I can see by the above responses that I’m not giving anything away if I say that a little over 12 years ago, I was cutting the u-cord of my precious Boo in James Fenimore Cooper’s village? I’m also admitting my ignorance by saying that I wouldn’t have a clue as to what to do with a gift certificate for Blue Moon Fiber Arts. But I’m guessing I could only spend it in a month with two full moons??? š
[…] Identify the location in the last picture of Tracey’s post by August 22, 10 pm EDT, and you could win a $25 gift certificate to Blue Moon Fiber Arts! […]
Heh…and here I was thinking it was looking sort of Williamsburg-y. What do I know? But I gather from the comments that it’s some place in NY.
As much as I would love to win the gift certificate, I wouldn’t have had anything close to a correct guess without reading the other comments…mostly I just wanted to say that the picture of Finn peeking out of the sling is just adorable.
Oh, this one is easy – Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, not the Bronx, New York!
Cooperstown, NY – you made that one too easy! I am a huge baseball fan, my 2 most prized possessions are my Mickey Mantle & Joe Dimaggio autographed baseballs!

How come you didn’t have to go to Albany . . . state capitol for the birthcertificate? ? ? ? huh? Wonder what Finn thinks every time you bend over to pick a bean. . . . . whoops there goes lunch!
Heh, yeah I’m late, but that’s ok because I would have had NO clue! Being Canadian and all…
Wow, Finn’s really growing! And you look great too, I love the hair. š
